Pinto Ranch (www.pintoranch.com) is an upscale western wear and accessory store located in both the Houston and Dallas areas. In their 12,000 sq. ft. store you will find authentic furnishings and Indian rugs; handcrafted tack, chaps and saddles; as well as beautifully designed boots, belts, buckles; and women’s or men’s apparel, surrounded by décor paying tribute to the great ranches of the American west.

Working for national general contractor, Structural Wood Components supplied numerous decorative interior Cypress log trusses, log trellis members, columns and beams installe inside the facility to accommodate various store product lines. Components were first supplied for Pinto Ranch’s Houston store in the Galleria area, then for the Dallas store in Northpark Center. The project also included Cypress components used on the façade of each store for siding, door and window frames, and signage.

Cypress logs were de-limbed, peeled and dressed for assembly in the retail store. Several decorative trusses varying from 12–24 foot spans were prebuilt and delivered to the job site for erection inside. Hidden plate construction was used with fasteners counter-sunk and hidden in some locations and exposed in others. Logs were hand-notched as required to join curved surfaces. The result was an assortment of beautiful, log-cabin style canopies, trellises and accent pieces that complemented the customer’s premium product.

It was our pleasure to supply this major contractor on this job, as well as a number of other commercial projects over the years. Our work with them has also included two L.A. Fitness Glulam truss installations.
